INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHAT WE DO WITH IT
A. PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
We may collect personally identifiable information when you make a voluntary submission to the Site. These voluntary submissions may include, but are not limited to, submissions to ask questions or provide comments to the staff at MASTHEAD, post blog comments, signup for email newsletters, submit charitable donations, register for events, submit survey results, utilize the Beer Finder or place an order on our Site. MASTHEAD only collects personally identifiable information when it is submitted by a user, and submission of personal information is voluntary.
MASTHEAD uses the information you provide to us at the Site to enable us to process purchases, to communicate with you and to provide services to you.
We may also use third parties to help us provide services to you, such as fulfilling orders, processing payments and so on. For example, we contract with third party service providers and other businesses (e.g., credit card processors, shippers, website developers and others) to help provide certain services offered on this Site. In some instances, these contractors may have access to personally identifiable information, however they have agreed not to contact you or disclose your personal information for any purpose unrelated to providing the services offered on this Site. MASTHEAD does not sell or share personally identifiable information to malicious third parties (e.g., marketers, spammers, etc.).
B. AGGREGATED TRACKING INFORMATION
MASTHEAD may track user traffic patterns throughout the site. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. We may break down overall usage statistics according to a user’s IP address, domain name, browser type, geographic location and ISP information by reading this information from the user agent header (information contained in every user’s browser).
MASTHEAD may track and catalog the search terms that users enter in search function(s) on the Site, but this tracking is not associated with individual users. We use tracking information to determine which areas of the Site users frequent based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.
COOKIES
MASTHEAD may place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain personally identifiable information, although it will enable us to relate your use of the Site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. The only personally identifiable information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can’t read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. MASTHEAD uses cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described above).
You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you’ve set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use the Site. However, you do need cookies to participate actively in purchasing, polling and surveys.
